Matterport is a leading edge technology company. For many years, they were thought to be the market controller of virtual walk-throughs for residential sales.
Today Matterport is used by contractors of all sizes to provide proof sets, request floorplans and layouts, virtual sales presentations with mock ups, notations and comments.
Matterport uses a combination of video and LiDAR technology to scan a location from many points to build a virtual model.
We are able to capture this model during all phases of construction. making it easier to find plumbing, electrical and HVAC components behind the wall after construction is complete we will be able to see the types of connectors that were used and can rescan after repairs and remodels to update the virtual space.
Large GC‘s use our scans to hold subcontractors accountable for things from damage to incorrect installation of prior phases of construction without having to perform demolition first. Accountability is one of the key components and use cases for this type of technology. It also provides a client with a very clear picture of the construction experience good or bad.
